The Sustainable Cosmetics Summit, a series of international summits, focuses on the sustainability challenges faced by the global beauty industry. As part of its mission to foster sustainability within the beauty industry, the summit brings together key stake-holders to debate major issues.

The European edition, taking place from November 21 to 23, 2012 in Paris, France, will feature two days of expert panels and one day devoted to interactive workshops. Key topics will be the impact of new technologies, the use of novel green ingredients and emerging marketing ideas in the natural cosmetics industry, including the ecological and ethical issues surrounding such developments.

SGS is pleased to announce that the SGS expert William Lepercq, Senior Ecodesign Consultant at SGS France, will contribute a best-practice presentation at this important industry summit in Paris.

His presentation on 21st November (afternoon) will initially sum up the issues related to environmental footprint assessments with cosmetics products, present the obstacles that have caused producers to refrain from performing assessments in the past, and describe how these issues can be overcome. He will also state a strong case for the use of assessments by describing how best to use an environmental footprint assessment and the potential advantages for producers.
